The Beaufort Hyde Martin Regional Library system is seeking an innovative Branch Manager to engage the community and provide programs for children at its Belhaven branch.
Salary: $13.75 hourly
This is a full-time, 35 hour per week position that includes daytime and weekend hours. Health insurance and retirement benefits under LGERS are provided to all full-time employees.
The branch manager is responsible for the daily operation of a small branch library. He or she provides reference and reader’s advisory for patrons, plans programs, and supervises three staff members. The branch manager is also responsible for the library’s services for children, including regular story times and planning of the summer reading program. The branch manager regularly assists patrons with technology, trains staff in the use of new technologies, and troubleshoots library devices. He or she selects new materials and withdraws outdated or worn materials with the assistance of the regional staff. The branch manager also advocates for the library and is responsible for communicating library events and services to the public through advertising and social media.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of one year supervisory experience, and a valid NC driver’s license. Library experience and experience working with children are highly preferred.
